Advanced Integrative Therapy Treatment
Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), formerly known as Seemorg Matrix Work, is a transformational, energetic approach to psychotherapy. It is part of the new field of Energy Psychology. AIT was created in the late 1990’s by Asha Clinton, MSW, Ph.D., to promote healing by the removal of traumatic information and symptoms from the body’s energy centers along the spine. The negative material that was removed is then replaced with positive beliefs and qualities.
There has not yet been research done with randomized trials about the efficacy of AIT compared with other treatment approaches, so it is technically considered experimental at this time.
Dr. Clinton describes the process as “gentle and renewing as it strengthens the connection between one’s ego and one’s true self, or the center of one’s being.” Like EMDR and BSP, AIT approaches trauma as a primary cause of much psychological dysfunction, though it also holds trauma as a cause of physical and spiritual dysfunction, as well. Clients and clinicians alike report that through AIT the healing process is accelerated, thorough, and subtle, or gentle. But the positive results are noticeable. After a trauma is cleared clients identify their feelings with very positive words. Many say they feel “light.” Quite a few spontaneously choose a rarely used word, “giddy,” to describe their feelings about the distress being gone.
